Try a creative approach to counselling
Sometimes the feelings are there but the words aren't. But there’s still a sense that you need something to change.
Maybe you've tried talking about it and something still isn't shifting. Maybe you're carrying something in your body that's hard to name. Maybe you've spent so long holding it together — masking, managing, pushing through — that you've lost touch with what you actually feel.
Creative counselling offers a different way in.You don’t need to have the “right words”
Using creativity, metaphor or trying art, clay, writing, movement or music can help— we work at your pace, in a way that's shaped around you. You don't need to be creative. You don't need to know what you want to say before you arrive. You just need to bring yourself.
Therapy can simply be a place to pause, breathe, and be met exactly where you are. My aim is to offer a gentle, creative, and reflective space shaped around what you need — not a one‑size‑fits‑all approach.
People who are often unseen deserve a space built for them
Chronic illness & fatigue Therapy that works with your body and your life, not against it. Sessions are flexible and accessible — you won't be asked to push through. Fatigue, pain, and fluctuating capacity are understood and accommodated here.
Neurodivergent adults Whether you have a formal diagnosis, are late-identified, or are still finding the language for your experience — you are welcome exactly as you are. The space is sensory-aware, low-pressure, and free from the expectation to mask or perform.
LGBTQ+ community
An affirming, trauma-informed space for exploring identity, relationships, and the particular exhaustion of navigating a world that doesn't always reflect you back.
Anxiety & depression
When life feels heavy, hard to face, or out of reach. Creative approaches can open up what talking alone sometimes can't.
Life transitions & grief
Redundancy, relocation, relationship changes, loss of a person or a version of yourself. The in-between places are hard. You don't need the words yet.
Young adults 18–25
Reduced rates available. Early adulthood is one of the most turbulent and underserved times — and one where a creative, non-clinical approach can make a real difference.
You might be coming to therapy because you’re:
Exploring identity or belonging — questioning who you are, your gender or sexuality, or trying to find your place in the world
Navigating life transitions — starting something new, ending something old, or feeling unsure about the path you’re on
Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or burnt out — whether from social situations, health worries, work, or simply trying to keep up
Experiencing low mood or depression — when everything feels heavy, flat, or hard to face
Living with neurodivergence — ADHD, autism, sensory differences, masking, burnout, or feeling misunderstood
Managing chronic illness or disability — coping with pain, fatigue, fluctuating health, or feeling unseen or dismissed
Grieving or adjusting to loss — of a person, a relationship, your health, or a sense of who you used to be
Feeling isolated or disconnected — especially if you’ve felt overlooked or unheard in other spaces
Processing trauma — whether from past experiences, ongoing stress, or the kind that’s difficult to name
A gentle, creative process
I work with adults (18+) who are navigating a wide range of emotional and life challenges — especially during times of transition, uncertainty, or feeling out of step with the world around them. Many of the people I support are women, LGBTQ+ clients, young adults, people living with chronic health conditions, and those exploring identity, belonging, or neurodivergence, though everyone is welcome.
We start with a free 20-minute call — no commitment, just a chance to talk about what's bringing you here and see if we're a good fit.
If we decide to continue, I'll invite you to a more formal assessment session. We'll gently explore your mental health history, previous experiences of therapy, and your hopes and goals.
From there, most clients choose to meet weekly or fortnightly. As a starting point I usually suggest six sessions, then we review together — for as long or short a time as feels right for you.
Sessions last one hour and take place online, so you can access support from wherever you are — including on the days when leaving the house isn't possible.
WHAT A SESSION MIGHT LOOK LIKE
There's no right way to do this. Some sessions we might use lots of art materials. Others we might only talk. You choose what to bring and what you want from counselling — there's no pressure to share anything you're not ready for.
I might invite you to draw, make a mark, work with clay, use collage, write, or simply sit with an image or object. These aren't art exercises — they're ways of accessing feelings and experiences that can be hard to reach through words alone.
My role is to work alongside you, not to direct you. Together we'll find what works.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Not at all. You don't need any art skills or experience — just openness and curiosity. We work in whatever way feels right for you, and that might not involve art materials at all. We might explore a poem or music that you feel drawn to in the moment. There is no wrong way to explore with your creativity.
-
After an initial call, we book in for a first full session called an Assessment session - a chance for us to explore your background, what’s brought you to therapy, and what you’re hoping for. I always share the questions we go through ahead of time, and make space for a creative activity in the first session. There’s no pressure to share more than feels comfortable. We go at your pace, always.
-
We’d use creativity as an additional way in — not a replacement for talking, but a complement to it. Art, objects, movement and metaphor can help access feelings and experiences that words alone sometimes can't reach. If you can’t think of what to talk about, we can use the arts to explore what’s going on for you.

That's entirely up to you.
Some people come focused on a specific thing for a shorter term support, others stay longer to have a regular space for them to process.
I offer weekly or fortnightly sessions with some breaks generally taken around the school & bank holidays.
As a starting point, I usually suggest booking six sessions.
We review regularly and you're always in the lead.
